This is it, folks, the yearly number one must-visit event if you want to catch a glimpse into the heart of what makes Eugene Eugene. This year is a particularly special one, marking the 50th anniversary of the Fair.
The Oregon Country Fair has come a long way from it’s roots in the seventies as a psychedelic-infused hippie festival, but it remains as colorful and eclectic as ever. Expect out-of-this-world music, theater, dance, performance art, vaudeville, spoken-word, art installations, food and craft booths, and childrens’ activities to go along with all of the sunshine, good vibes, and thousands of Eugenians and visitors alike entering into their costumed “Fair” alter-egos. Phil Lesh, famed Grateful Dead bassist, will headline the musical performances with his Terrapin Family Band, and that’s just the very tippy-tip of the iceberg. Don’t miss it.
